“Fall Dance Concert”
Michael Tevlin, director
Two guest artist choreographers’ works grace our stage: Ben Needham-Wood (CCM graduate, class of 2010 and current member of Louisville Ballet Company) creates a raw and vibrant world première and Sharee Lane (former dancer with Ballet West and current Professor of Dance, University of Utah) restages “Affinity” to music by Vivaldi. In addition, from the classical ballet Sleeping Beauty (Act III), CCM Dance presents “Aurora’s Wedding” with music by Tchaikovsky, original choreography by Petipa and restaged by CCM Professors Deirdre Carberry and Michael Tevlin. It is here that the royal wedding of Prince Charming and Princess Aurora takes place, complete with a full series of celebratory divertissements performed by the inhabitants of fairyland and the royal court.
