Whether you are a novice or a pro, this Intravenous Therapy Certificate Program will boost your clinical skills and your confidence. Held at the RWJ Hamilton Center for Health & Wellness in Mercerville, NJ, this continuing education seminar provides in-depth knowledge of intravenous therapy and venipuncture skills with hands-on participation to enhance the learning process. You will learn how to properly insert a peripheral IV catheter and understand important risks and complications associated with IVs.
The seminar content includes venous anatomy as it applies to IV therapy, legal aspects, short and long term vascular access devices, osomality and pH of infusates, implications of intravenous therapies, infusion flow control measures, infection control measures, PIV catheter insertion, peripheral IV catheter insertion technique, documentation guidelines and more.
Criteria for successful completion:
* Required attendance for the entire seminar on both days.
* IV skill validation
* Post-test
* Submission of completed evaluation
Certificate of completion with 12.0 contact hours of continuing nursing education will be awarded upon successful completion of the program. Instructional materials and a continental breakfast are also provided.
Who should attend: Registered nurses, nursing students, LPNs, and other healthcare professionals in the acute care and alternate care settings who wish to attain in-depth knowledge of intravenous therapy and obtain venipuncture skills.
Hands-on practice: There are several manufacturers and IV catheters. We do not endorse any products. We keep you informed of the latest advances in technology and practice guidelines.If you prefer to practice with specificvenipuncture products used at your facility, please bring a catheters for practice.
