In 1999 Allen was diagnosed with spino-cerrebelur ataxia type 6, which is a degenerative disease. For the last 13 years, we have watched his mobility to go to almost nothing. This from the man that coached my brothers baseball team and was very active. 2 days before Christmas in 2010 we received a phone call that Allen had prostate cancer that has spread to all of his organs and bones. Medical bills were mounting before the diagnosis of the cancer, and now with the cancer my parents are really bad off financially. Allen would never admit to this, and he isn't one to take handouts, but he is in desperate need.
