"Come celebrate the arts!" is the theme that runs across all of the Oxford Community Arts Center's (OCAC) Second Fridays. December's SECOND FRIDAY at the OCAC will feature two new exhibits, one by Laura Livingston and the other by Brittany Grell. SECOND FRIDAY starts at 6pm with an artists' reception and the opening of the new exhibits Friday, December 14th, 2012. To purchase any of the art hanging in the OCAC contact Chrissy Collopy or any OCAC staff member working at Second Friday. There will be no Second Friday in January. The exhibition of both Grell and Livingston will remain until February. Oxford Community Arts Center's SECOND FRIDAY will also feature musical entertainment by local musician Dough Hamilton. Known for his awesome violin skills-Doug will take the stage at 8pm. OCAC's SECOND FRIDAY is a community celebration of the arts. From 6 to 9 pm this free monthly event features live music, exhibits of visual art and an artists' reception. OCAC's third floor studio artists host Open Studios, and the Art Shop Cooperative opens from 5:30 to 9 pm, giving guests the opportunity to view creative art space, as well as purchase one-of-a-kind artwork directly from the artists. Ballroom Dance, with Nancy Sturgeon and Janet Holmes offering gentle instruction, begins at 8 pm, with open dancing between 9 and 10pm. (There is a small $5 fee but no sign-up is required. FREE
