The competition winner will be awarded the $10,000 William and Dorothy Yeck Award and the painting will become part of Miami University's permanent collection.
This year's competition focuses on representational realism paintings.

He has written previously for The Wall Street Journal, The New York Sun and other publications such as Art in America and Modern Painters.
