Family-Friendly Films Expand Programming at the Oxford Community Arts Center
The Oxford Community Arts Center (OCAC) is expanding its programming once again. With the generous sponsorship of Re/Max Alpha Real Estate, OCAC is now announcing the Re/Max Family Film Series. This film series will begin on Wednesday, February 6th, at 6:30pm with the film Rio at the Oxford Community Arts Center. Additional dates in the series are March 6th - Everyone's Hero, June 19th - Aliens in the Attic, and August 7th - The Fantastic Mr. Fox. All films are FREE and open to the public, concessions will be for sale to benefit OCAC.
Rio stars the voices of Jesse Eisenberg and Anne Hathaway. The film is set in Rio de Janerio, Brazil and follows the adventures of Blu (Eisenberg) a male blue macaw, being kidnapped and falling in love with Jewel (Hathaway), a female blue macaw.
Everyone's Hero is a computer animated comedy starring Jake T. Austin, Rob Reiner, Whoopi Goldberg, and Robin Williams. This film is dedicated to Christopher Reeves as director. Everyone's Hero involves the series of improbable coincidences that allow Yankee Irving (Austin) to discover Babe Ruth's stolen baseball bat Darlin' (Goldberg).
Aliens in the Attic stars Carter Jenkins, Ashley Tisdale and Robert Hoffman. This film is an American, family, science-fiction comedy about the Pearson family children having to defend their vacation home from aliens.
The Fantastic Mr. Fox is a stop-motion, family comedy based on the children's novel by Ronald Dahl. It presents the story of the Fox family and their dealings with three mean farmers.
"With the recent closing of The Princess, Oxford's only running movie theater, OCAC loved the idea of Re/Max sponsoring a film series geared towards families and the young-at-heart. I think the selections that have been made are great for all audiences, mostly hilarious G and PG movies. I can't wait for the Fantastic Mr. Fox. You can't beat George Clooney, Meryl Streep and Bill Murray as furry, animated, woodland folk." - Andrew Lynn
