Trace Adkins is teaming up with ABC's 'Extreme Makeover Home Edition' to help a police officer who was shot in the line of duty, says the boot.com.
The country star is traveling with the hit show to Lancaster, Texas, where they'll meet Carlton Marshall, who lost most of his mobility and all of his hearing after being shot while leading a Dallas Police Department SWAT team. Trace will help show host Ty Pennington and a host of other crew and volunteers to rebuild the Marshall family's home. The seven-day construction project will rectify structural and accessibility issues, among many other problems. Additional work on the property's barn will enable Carlton and his wife, Susan, to continue their volunteer work with TROT, a horseback riding therapy program for people with physical and mental challenges.
The Marshall family will go on vacation to Disneyland while Trace and the 'Extreme Makeover' volunteers are hard at work. There's no word yet on when their episode will air.
