Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles was put on vocal rest, causing the band to bow out at least for now as the opening act for Keith Urban's Escape Together World Tour, which starts tonight.
Sugarland's web site said Nettles "received doctor's orders to rest her voice for the next 10 days due to a viral tonsil condition." The group is not playing the first three dates on Urban's tour - two in Uncasville, Conn. and one in State College, Pa.
Urban today named Jason Aldean and Little Big Town to replace Sugarland for Urban's opening performances at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn.
Aldean will appear tonight (May 7), while Little Big Town will open Friday night's performance (May 8). An announcement will be forthcoming regarding Urban's appearance in State College, Pa. on May 9.
Sugarland's "Love On The Inside" tour will resume on May 15 in Orange Beach, Ala.
