Big man Trace Adkins, fresh off a wildly successful performance at this year's Country Concert in Fort Loramie has an even busier August planned.  His new album, "Cowboy's Back in Town" is set for release on the 17th and he'll be heading out to Los Angeles to do some more actin'!   Ironically, both events, musical and theatrical, involve his buddy actor Matthew McConaughey.

MM is given a "shout out" in one of Trace's songs, "Hell, I Can Do That."  He tells Great American Country he handed Matthew a copy of the song personally backstage at the ACM Awards, "I gave it to him, and I said, 'Listen to this song. You gotta listen all the way to the end, though.'"  Read more here.  Matthew's also starring in the movie "Lincoln Lawyer" in which Trace got a part,  "It's not a stretch," he observed. "I'm the leader of a biker gang -- hell, I can do that!"  Sounds like a match made in heaven!
