Country singer Mindy McCready arrived in New York Tuesday night with a new beau on her arm and bubbling with enthusiasm about her future.
The former long-time paramour of pitcher Roger Clemens will make an appearance on ABC's "The View" today to discuss her appearance on "Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew," which recently aired its season finale. McCready was on the reality series to treat co-dependency issues, and has told the Daily News in the past that she considers her relationship with Clemens to have been very destructive.
Tuesday night, McCready (above, right) had dinner at the West Village eatery Rocco, and was joined by "Celebrity Rehab" cast member Mackenzie Phillips, who was treated on the show for substance abuse problems. McCready and Phillips have become close friends after being roommates on the series.
McCready said Tuesday night that she hadn't been to Rocco since the late '90s when her music career was in full bloom, and when Clemens was already a big part of her life. But a series of personal and legal woes followed, including a jail stint in 2007 for violating probation.
In 2008, The News exposed her romance with Clemens on the heels of his awkward appearance before Congress. The Rocket is currently being investigated for perjury.
But McCready is all smiles these days, an album set to release and a book project in the works. She is dating record producer David Wilson.
"My life is great - I'm getting to have a do-over!" she said.
