No Taylor/Kanye Drama at last night's VMA's

By Nancy Wilson

No real drama on last night's MTV Video Music Awards show, unless you count Lady Gaga's dress made of meat.  What?  No Taylor Swift/Kanye West showdown?  Nope.  Granted they were both there, and they performed, but at opposite ends of the show.  However, Taylor's performance began with a video flashback of last year's Kanye stealing the mic from her moment during her Best Female Video acceptance speech, before launching into a new song inspired by the entire mess. But, if you're thinking this was Taylor's way of getting revenge (she does tend to do that in songs), you would be wrong.  Instead, she almost seemed to forgive him!  "It's alright, just wait and see / Your string of lights are still bright to me / Who you are is not where you've been / You're still an innocent,"   The song is called 'Still an Innocent' and very well could be about Taylor herself.  But in another line she sings, "You're 32 and still growing up now," and guess who happens to be 32?  Mr. West himself. Read more at the Boot.  Neither Taylor nor Kanye won any awards last night.  Taylor's "Speak Now" album is out October 20th.
