The World Series has gone country! Last night American Idol winner Scotty McCreery performed the National Anthem in St. Louis for Game One of the World Series between the Cardinals and the Texas Rangers. Despite a brief mic malfunction, Scotty nailed it! So did the Cards, they took the game 3-2. Tonight, also in St. Louis, Trace Adkins gets the honors and Saturday for Game Three in Arlington, Texas, Ronnie Dunn will sing the Star Spangled Banner. So who does Scotty root for? Despite being a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan, he has a connection with Texas Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton, once a star baseball player at Athens Drive High School in Raleigh, where Scotty is from, "I've gotta root for the hometown boy," he tells the News Observer. Scotty hopes to play baseball for his Garner High Trojans next spring. In the meantime, Scotty and the Band Perry will hit the road with Brad Paisley in his just announced, "Camobunga! 2012 World Tour" which kicks off in Grand Rapids in January.
