Friday the 13th was definitely unlucky for Jake Owen. He broke his collarbone while snowboarding in Colorado last week. Yesterday he waited anxiously for the doctor's verdict, “You know it’s not good when he comes in and says ‘That break is worse than the football teams.’ Damn.” Jake said on Twitter. Hoping he wouldn't have to cancel some upcoming shows this week, the doctor broke the news, “I guess I spoke too soon,” he tweeted. “So sorry to my friends and fans. I’m going in for surgery tomorrow morning. My shows will be postponed.” Jake was scheduled to perform tomorrow and Thursday at Joe’s Bar in Chicago, but that's all up in the air. He goes under the knife this afternoon, "Surgery scheduled for 1:30.....Thx for all the well wishes. I'm getting a couple plates and pins put in. Sorry again for cancel shows." Jake will be at it before we know it, as he hits the road in June with Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw on their co-headlining Brothers of the Sun Tour. The tour is set to kick off on June 2 in Tampa, Florida, with a stop in Cincinnati July 1st. See his upcoming tour dates here. Makes you wonder if Jake's not accident prone, huh? This is not the first time Jake's had a broken collarbone. "Last time I broke my collarbone...Thats me and my bro after I fell off my 4 wheeler. Thanks mom for dressing us alike" he said on Twitter.
