K99.1FM is sad to pass along news from Blake Shelton'swebsite. "It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Blake Shelton's father, Dick Shelton. Mr. Shelton, who was in declining health this past year, was surrounded by loved ones in Oklahoma upon his passing this (Tuesday) evening." Blake's Dad had been sick for a while, and the Oklahoma singer dedicated his American Country Awards win last month to his father, who was in the hospital with pneumonia at the time. Although Blake is no doubt upset, he took time to thank his fans. "I appreciate your understanding during this difficult time and thank you for all your prayers. Your support means the world to me. I love you guys," Blake. As a result, he'll miss four shows in the Dakotas and Montana this week, which have been rescheduled for March, but he does plan to return to the road next week. Find out about the rescheduled dates here. Blake is set to duet on “America the Beautiful” with wife Miranda Lambert before the Super Bowl next month. Immediately after, the second season of his show "The Voice" makes its debut. He's also up for three Grammy awards. Our hearts go out to the Shelton family.
