Jason Aldean, Scotty McCreery play ball

By Nancy Wilson

Baseball has been "berry berry good" to some country music stars!.  Jason Aldean now knows what it's like to play stadiums, just not on stage!   The Georgia native worked out with his beloved Atlanta Braves yesterday at the team's spring training camp in Florida.  Jason played first base in high school and didn't seem to have any trouble running bases, fielding grounders and taking batting practice, even hitting one all the way to the warning track!   Jason was filming an episode of GACTV's show "Day Jobs" where country stars can go back to what they were doing before they hit it big.    Posts on the Braves' twitter page read, "@Jason_Aldean visiting "  among other tweets.    Jason was outfitted with full Braves gear.   He tweeted last night "Just finished workin out with the Atlanta Braves for an upcoming episode of GAC "day jobs"... Gonna be veeeery sore tomorrow."  The show airs April 4th.    By the way, we have some tickets to Jason's sold out show with Luke Bryan and Lauren Alaina at WSU's Nutter Center March 22nd.  Find out how you can win them, here.     Here's his latest video for "Fly Over States."

Meanwhile, high school senior Scotty McCreery, who just happens to be on tour with Brad Paisley thru mid-March,  plans on playing on his school's baseball team in Garner, North Carolina, this spring.   Scotty couldn't play last year, "Singing don't really mean you can really play ball well," he admits to ABC News Radio. "So, they had to see if I had a little something left in me."    Even though Scotty had to miss playing last year due to American Idol commitments and a few games finishing up Brad's "Virtual Reality Tour" he's happy with the cooperation he's getting.   "I enjoy high school, I enjoy being there with my friends and getting to hang out," he explains to BlogCritics.org.     "But I also enjoy the music and getting out here with the fans and singing a lot. It's really cool for me to be able to do both. It's been a fairly nice balance with schoolwork and being on the road. We've made it work."      Here's hoping so, Scotty's a pitcher and is ready for tauting from the other teams when he's on the mound.  He says he's "just gonna blow it off and strike 'em out!"
