When Brantley Gilbert sings his smash hit "Country Must be Country Wide" it's okay to find country everywhere you look, but we're pretty sure he wasn't talking about himself! An Indiana man has been caught trying to impersonate the singer, sending emails and texts posing as Brantley. 25-year old Thomas Michael Barth has been charged with two counts of felony theft, according to the Warsaw Police Department.
Doesn't look much like Brantley does he? Barth pretended to be Brantley's manager and photographer before taking on the role of Gilbert himself. Police say Barth received more than $8,000 worth of personalized products and clothing from Robert’s Signs during a three-month period, in addition to expensive pieces of equipment from another source. Read more here. Most of the stuff has been recovered. Police said earlier this month, Barth admitted to misrepresenting Gilbert, and turned himself into the LaGrange County Jail in Indiana last week. For now, the "You Don't Know Her Like I Do" singer can say the same thing for himself, as his album ‘Halfway to Heaven’ has sold 500,000 copies, putting it at gold status. Can't get enough Brantley?
