As we await the big Jason Aldean news this morning his new album Night Train continues to get attention (you do have it, right?). Jason's been cryptic about the announcement on Twitter and Facebook, "There will definitely be a couple of hits out of the park 10.18.12 #NightTrain" and "Ground is being broken…literally 10.18.12 #NightTrain"---we're thinking a major tour!

But back, to the album. One of the songs we played yesterday is an homage to 1990's superstar Joe Diffie. "1994" (co-written by Thomas Rhett!) is another Jason country-rap tune all about Joe. CMT's Alison Bonaguro asked the singer what he thought about the tune. "It's really an honor. It's kind of flattering, yet uncomfortable at the same time," he laughed. "Talk about unexpected, you know? Someone told me that Thomas Rhett had co-written a song that mentioned me. And I thought, 'I wonder what he said about me in there?' Because we've all heard songs in the past that mention Haggard or Jones, so I thought it might be something like that." But "1994" isn't a shout-out, it's a tribute! "When I heard it, I was stunned," Diffie admitted. "I was like. 'You gotta be kidding me.' It's pretty flattering they went that far with it. It's one thing to hear a song title or your name mentioned, but when it started into the 'Joe. Joe. Joe Diffie' part, that's cool right there." Joe says he's still trying to figure out one of the lyrics, "Teach us how to Diffie." "If anybody knows how to do that," he said, "let me know." Read all about it here.
About Me: I should have known I was destined to have a career where all I do is talk when I was in kindergarten at Plattsburg Elementary in the late 60's.
