George Strait made big news this afternoon announcing plans for the final tour of his career. “This is going to be a very special, emotional tour for me,” said Strait. “Everywhere we’re going holds fond memories and I’m looking forward to paying my respects.” The big announcement was made at the Country Music Hall of Fame. Strait will be joined on the tour by Martina McBride.

“The Cowboy Rides Away Tour” is seen as the final chance to see him live in concert for many. There is some good news to report! George also announced that he would continue recording and would perform “select dates around the country.”
