Father’s Day is a day full of ‘World’s Greatest Dad’ t-shirts, New Balance shoes, and new grill tongs. With that being said, I want to know what song reminds you of your dad the most? For me, the song has absolutely nothing the to with being a dad, but I have to go with “I Like It, I Love It” by Tim McGraw. I was probably somewhere around six-years-old the first time I heard it. My dad and I were on our way to the C.J. Brown Reservoir to go fishing and it came on the radio. As soon as I heard it I was hooked. It was the first song that I ever learned the title of and, eventually, memorized every word to. A couple days later, my dad came home with a cassette tape of Tim McGraw’s album, “All I Want” which included “I Like It, I Love It.” I played the song every time we got in the car. So much that the cassette mysteriously disappeared (pretty sure that my dad threw it out the window because he was tired of listening to it).
So, as we head into Father’s Day weekend, what song reminds you of your pops the most?
