Garth Brooks is set to honor his friend and fellow country music icon, Randy Travis, with the Artist of a Lifetime award at the CMT Artist of the Year special.
Garth has never hesitated to show his appreciation of Randy.
“Randy Travis saved country music, in my opinion,” he told The Tennessean in 2019. “I don’t know of any artist who took a format and turned it 180 [degrees] back to where it came from and made it bigger than it was then.”
The CMT Artist of the Year special will air tonight (October 13) at 9pm ET on CMT.
