Whoops! A Kansas couple learned a valuable lesson over the weekend: ALWAYS remember where the Elf On The Shelf is hiding!
Chelsea Hightower told Fox News that she received a phone call on Friday (December 11) from her husband, Matt, while she was at Target.
“I knew something was wrong when he answers,” she said. “‘Babe…I feel really bad. I feel horrible. I cooked the elves,” Matt told her.
The Hightower’s three elves came back from the North Pole that night and decided to hide in the oven with a sign that read, “it’s a lot toastier in here!!” Later that evening, Matt started the oven to begin making dinner and completely forget that the elves were still inside!
The elves suffered minor injuries, but nothing life threatening. Luckily, the Hightower’s were able to rush the elves to the “Elfspital” for a speedy recovery.
