Steak and Shake frying up potatoes the old-fashioned way.

Steak ‘n Shake, which has been known for decades for its steakburgers and hand-dipped milkshakes served to diners by servers, will transition to a self-service restaurant when its dining rooms reopen after the coronavirus pandemic.

Steak and Shake, known for their delicious flat steakburgers announced last week that it will be replacing its current oil and replacing it with 100% beef tallow by the end of this year.

The chain says it will be authentic and achieve the highest quality and best taste.

Over the years, many chains switched away from beef tallow and use other vegetable-based oils.

I remember in the old days fast food fries seemed to taste better using beef tallow. There must be something to it right?

Can’t wait to try the new shoestring fries!
