My heart is heavy upon hearing about the death of Charlie Daniels. Not only was he a great musical artist, he was a great man, husband and father. He and I attended the same church and he will be missed. He was a patriot and was so full of life until he took his final breath. pic.twitter.com/uYAzhraA70

“Charlie Daniels was a reverential innovator. His music fused the immediacy of Southern Rock with the classic country storytelling he heard as a child. He brought new audiences to country music, pointing people to the sources even as he explored the edges." — Kyle Young, CEO. pic.twitter.com/R6IRKHY44w

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Daniels some years ago, and he was one of the sweetest men I’ve ever met; so respectful and cordial. I’ve met some of my “heroes” before and been a little disappointed, but, Mr. Daniels was NOT one of those moments.
