DAYTON — A man was taken to a local hospital after a reported shooting in Dayton late Monday night.

Around 10:46 p.m. Monday, crews were dispatched to the 100 block of Valley View Drive on initial reports of an assault, according to a Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Sergeant.

When police got to the scene, they found a 37-year-old man, who was transported to a local hospital.
While at the hospital, it was learned that the man had been shot, according to an update from Dayton Police Lieutenant Eric Sheldon.
The man is in life-threatening condition.
The shooting is under investigation by detectives from the Dayton Police Department’s Homicide Unit.
