DAYTON — UPDATE:
Two drivers avoided getting hurt after a tree fell on their cars on Tuesday.
Crews were initially called to reports of a car that had crashed into a tree in the 1600 block of Wayne Avenue.
When crews got on scene, they learned that there was no crash and rather, a large tree had fallen on the two cars that were driving down the street, Sgt. Danielle Cash with the Dayton Police Department said.
The drivers were trapped in their cars.
The drivers were able to get out without being hurt, Cash said.
Power lines were involved, resulting in a large outage
Over 3,800 AES customers were without power after the crash.
As of 12:40 p.m., most of those outages have been restored.
Wayne Avenue was closed in both directions as crews worked to clean up the tree.

INITIAL REPORT:
A busy Dayton street is blocked after a crash in Dayton on Tuesday.

Around 11:16 a.m. Dayton police and fire were called to the 1600 block of Wayne Avenue for a crash, according to a Montgomery County Regional Dispatch supervisor.
Wayne Avenue is closed in both directions in the area.
Our News Center 7 crew reported seeing a large tree and power lines down.
Over 3,800 AES customers were without power after the crash.
As of 12:40 p.m., most of those outages have been restored.
An AES spokesperson confirmed crews were aware of the outage and are working to restore power to those still experiencing an outage.
