No. 1 Ohio State beats arch-rival Michigan, snaps 4-game losing streak

The four-year drought is over for the Ohio State Buckeyes against arch-rival Michigan.

Quarterback Julian Sayin passed for 233 yards and three touchdowns as the No. 1 Buckeyes beat the Wolverines, 27-9, in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

OSU improves to 12-0 overall, 9-0 in the Big Ten.

It is their first win over The Team Up North (TTUN) since 2019.

Donovan Zvada made two field goals to put Michigan ahead, 6-3, after one quarter.

In the second quarter, Ohio State faced a fourth-and-five from the Wolverines’ 35-yard line. Sayin threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to Jeremiah Smith down the right sideline to give the Buckeyes a 10-6 lead.

Right before halftime, they faced a third and three from Michigan’s four-yard line. Sayin found Brandon Inniss over the middle for a touchdown to increase OSU’s advantage to 17-9 at halftime.

In the third quarter, Sayin connected with Carnell Tate for a 50-yard touchdown pass to expand the lead to 24-9.

Jayden Fielding capped the scoring with a 23-yard field goal in the fourth quarter.

Ohio State will play Indiana in the Big Ten Championship game in Indianapolis on Dec. 6.

Kickoff is at 8 p.m. at Lucas Oil Stadium.
