Police late last week released the surveillance video that shows the attack and announced a $20,000 reward for information leading to arrests of the young assailants, which included four boys and three girls.

Investigators have not said how the brothers may have been involved in the North Philadelphia beating just before 3 a.m. EDT June 24 that left James “Simmie” Lambert Jr. in critical condition. He died the following day, WCAU reported.

No formal charges have been filed, but the brothers, whose names have not been released publicly, surrendered to the Philadelphia Police Homicide Unit, WTFX-TV reported.

According to police, Lambert was knocked to the ground and later died from blunt force trauma to the head making his manner of death a homicide, the TV station reported.

The fatal assault occurred weeks before city officials implemented a citywide curfew for anyone under the age of 18, WTFX reported.
